What is an API?

An API (Application programming interface) is an intermediate for data transfer between two

servers. Any action on the user interface that sends data for validation or verification to the database for ex: even username/password authentication happens via data transfer. Managing 'n' no. of database connects is a hectic task so in simple words we pass the tokens via an API which returns the validated result.

Sticking to basics, an API just fetches some data that we need to process further against a payload (input parameters eg: JSON etc.)

Stay tuned for next post for detailed information on API testing and much more!!!
